New Tap Room: Fat Pants Brewing Co.

Fat Pants Brewing Co., Eden Prairie’s first dedicated taproom, is open for business. Owners Don and Linda Anderson, along with their daughter Elizabeth Anderson, are life-long Eden Prairie Residents who turned their dream into reality by creating Fat Pants. The taproom will be a unique spot for relaxing, entertaining clients or hosting meetings. The prior space was completely overhauled to create a typical taproom area including an eating area with booths, but also with a live stage and an outdoor patio. A conference room is also available for meetings and events. Fat Pants will serve a range of beer styles from up to 18 taps. Food is available on-site. |

Russian Ballet Opens Enrollment for Winter Season

Winter session for the Minnesota Ballet School begins Nov. 24. The MBS teaches children ranging from 3 to 18 years old in the best traditions of Russian ballet. Established in 2001, the Ballet School features world-class Directors who are both graduates of the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia, the most prestigious ballet school in the world. Curriculum is comprehensive and based on the Vaganova Syllabus, which is proven to instill in dancers incomparable technique while striving for a greater sense of artistry, clarity, grace, athleticism, speed and musicality. MBS students have a great opportunity to perform four times during the school year with a classical repertoire such as Nutcracker, Paquita, La Bayadere, Swan Lake and many others, as well as original ballets Peter and the Wolf, Carnival of the Animals and Great Halloween Adventure.

Minnesota Tops for Chunky Dogs and Fat Cats

Multiple studies show Minnesota topping the list for both chunky dogs and fat cats, where 41% of pooches and 46% of kitties were rated by veterinarians as overweight or obese. Dr. Jim Nelson at The Prairie Village Pet Hospital recommends making sure you feed young dogs and cats the right food. For instance, young animals need the extra calories and nutrients in puppy chow or kitten food but need to change when the time is right. Generally, dogs that weigh 20 pounds or less should switch between 9 and 12 months, while larger breeds should change around 12-14 months. Kittens should switch to cat food around 12 months. Please consult your vet for advice on what’s best for your pet.
