Eden Prairie Students Receive Presidential Volunteer Award
At the end of May, 43 Eden Prairie High School students received the Presidential Service Award at the end of the 2018-19 school year. Award recipients volunteered at least 100 hours over a 12-month period. Recipients included Lily Aaberg, Sarthak Agrawal, Aditya Akolkar, Sarah Becker, Kathryn Berges, Irene Cho, Dhruv Chowdhary, Kristina Cooke, James Cross, Daniel Georgioff, Devansh Guduri, Avery Hackenberg, Alyssa Horton, Jaycey Horton, Mrinalni Iyer, Sridevi Jay, Charlotte Johnson, Max Johnson, Pranita Keenigi, Anoushkha Koutharapu, Aditya Kulkarni, Thai Loyd, Ngawang Namru, Peter Niemczyk-Balint, Devna Panda, Prayag Rajagopal, Keerthana Ramanathan, Ajith Regulagedda, Sarah Rubin, Aditya Satish, Charles Shi, Sylvia Sidky, Shanna Sivakumar, Salma Tahlil, Stuti Thakkar, Raghava Uppuluri, Sravanti Vadrevu, Gwendolyn Vu, Julia Wang Rachel Wagner, Tatum Weisser, Emma Whittemore and Alexis Willette.
Cakes for a Cure Raised Over $10,000 For Charity
Local teenager, Mary Margaret Mellen’s, Cake for a Cure has raised $10,655 for charities bringing awareness to neurofibromatosis, according to Southwest News Media. Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder that causes small tumors to grow on the body’s nervous tissue, and Mary Margaret asks her customers to pay for their decadent cakes by donating however much they can to one of four charities. Chuck and Don’s Comes to Eden Prairie
Chuck and Don’s, a chain pet food and supplies store, opened a brand new store in Eden Prairie on June 6. The store sells everything from brand name pet food to speciality food, treats, supplements, toys and more. It also boasts free delivery and in-store pickup for online orders, as well as special events that benefit local pet rescues.
