Bring nature indoors to create a welcoming table
Thanksgiving is the perfect time of year to incorporate nature into your table décor. The color palette is rich and vibrant, the components are inexpensive, and you can create beautiful centerpieces with minimal fuss.
All pumpkin and apple varieties magically look pretty together. Transform a pumpkin into a unique centerpiece by removing the top, scooping out the seeds and pulp, then filling it with floral foam and cut flowers. If you’d like to use living plants, sneak in a pot of succulents or mums and hide the edges of the pot with moss. You can easily turn apples into candle holders by coring them, preserving them with a bit of lemon juice and adding tea lights.
If you like to keep it simple, you have lots of options. Pumpkins can be striking on their own. Set your table first, then fill in the open spaces with several varieties and sizes. You might also borrow lanterns from another room and surround them with small branches of bittersweet or dogwood. For a table with striking contrasts, arrange bright silver accessories with white pumpkins and pinecones on dark wood, wicker and burlap.
Let autumn’s beauty inspire you. Have fun using your creativity to set a warm, welcoming table for your guests. Many of these natural accents can be found on a nature hike or at a local garden center like The Mustard Seed.
