July 2017 Lifestyle Letter

After bundling up with countless layers, slipping on ice during each commute to and from work, and fighting frostbit fingers, summer is finally here. And you know what? I’m already too hot. But as an employee of my local drugstore said to me, that’s when you know you’re a true Minnesotan.

But beyond struggling to survive the heat, there are a plethora of reasons to be excited about summer. In this issue, we have curated a collection of some of these reasons. Our summer essentials include fresh fruit cocktails, tips for growing tomatoes, campfire recipes, must-see attractions, and Minnesota’s all-time favorite summertime sport, fishing.

The warmer weather also means we have more time with our furry family members, so we dedicate this issue to you dog lovers. Look forward to next month’s issue as well for a look into Eden Prairie’s Mission Animal Hospital, sure to not be missed.

Lastly, in the spirit of 4th of July, we have a special feature on patriotism. Special thanks to Dick Middleton and his expansive knowledge on the history of our flag.

Enjoy one of our hottest months of the year with friends, family, community, and good eats.

Cheers,

Nora Johnson
