Eden Prairie Players Presents: Honk!

A delightful musical adaption of one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved fables is a quackingly good time. Enjoy a new take on the classic ugly duckling story with Eden Prairie Players’ Honk! The Eden Prairie Community Band provides instrumentals as the pit orchestra. Since it first hatched in 1993, Stiles & Drewe’s musical, Honk!, has winged its way around the world in over 8,000 productions and in many different languages. Winner of multiple awards, including the 2000 Olivier Award for Best Musical, this heartwarming celebration of being different is sure to delight audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit and memorable score. Honk! will be on stage June 16th though the 18th and June 22nd through the 25th at 7:00 PM at Staring Lake Amphitheatre.

Fire Department 5K Fun Run/Walk

Join the Eden Prairie Fire Department at Purgatory Creek Park for the sixth annual 5K Fun Run/Walk to benefit the American Cancer Society. There will be activities for all ages including games, raffles, a dunk tank and fire truck tours. The Fire Department 5K Fun Run/Walk is on June 24th from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Purgatory Creek Park. The 5K will cost $25 per person, for more information contact the Fire Department or call 952-949-8367.


The Performing Institute of Minnesota (PIM) will be hosting a Community Open House with informal tours on June 13, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM in their new facility at 7255 Flying Cloud Drive. Beginning this fall, the Performing Institute of Minnesota will be home to the PIM Arts High School (formerly the Main Street School of Performing Arts) as well as an arts hub for all of the South Metro.

Minnesota Festival 
of Jazz on the Prairie

Join friends for the 26th annual Festival of Jazz on the Prairie featuring six area big bands. The bands that will be performing include, Just Friends Big Band, Good News Big Band, River City Big Band, ACME Jazz Co., Bend in the River, and Jazz on the Prairie. Plus, enjoy RibFest (benefiting the Eden Prairie Noon Rotary charities) for a barbecue rib meal with cole slaw and chips (pulled chicken sandwiches and hot dogs are also available). Tickets for RibFest are $10 in advance or $12 on the day of the event. Minnesota Festival of Jazz on the Prairie in on June 11th from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Staring Lake Amphitheatre and is free.
