Learning More About Eden Prairie’s Fare Hypnosis Center
Have you ever wondered whether your life could be different if you were able to change the way you respond to certain stimuli? What if you could teach your mind to perceive pain in a different way and reduce or eliminate it? What if you could train yourself to control your impulses around food and eating and ultimately be able to lose weight? How about successfully quitting smoking? Overcoming fears? Or, how about the granddaddy of ‘em all: what if you could manage stress in a healthier manner? Think of the possibilities you could open up for yourself!
Roberta Fernandez, is a board certified hypnotist, and the founder and president of FARE Hypnosis Center in Eden Prairie. Roberta says she became interested in hypnosis after an amazing personal experience, and she realized that she wanted to share this powerful and empowering modality with others to help them make impactful and positive changes in their lives.
She offers her own testimonial for the wonderful effects of hypnosis: Roberta needed knee replacements in both knees a few years ago and she successfully used self-hypnosis techniques to manage her pain, before and after surgery, rather than use any painkillers.
Ms. Fernandez is also the author of the new book, Breaking Free from Pain and Opioids: Discovering the Hypnosis Option (available on Amazon and FARE Hypnosis Center’s website). Roberta says the reason she felt compelled to write this book was to introduce an option for pain management that did not involve narcotics.
WHAT IS FARE?
FARE is an acronym for Focus, Associate, Repeat, Expect. This is the process clients follow to successfully access their subconscious minds to change thoughts and behaviors in order to achieve the desired outcomes and manage those results for the long-term. Roberta likes to think of hypnosis as “another tool in the toolkit” for her clients. Roberta adds that hypnosis creates an environment where one can “reconnect with the subconscious mind to access your own answers and be open to ideas you want to take in.” The brain decides how we experience pain, and through hypnosis, we can change the perception of that pain, making hypnosis a very powerful tool.
Roberta explains that her ideal client is someone who is motivated to learn and practice the techniques of hypnosis. Most importantly, she says, “They have to want the change.”
Roberta is passionate about hypnosis and sees her role as an educator. She teaches her clients hypnosis techniques, but she also teaches medical and therapeutic professionals who want to add hypnosis to their practices.
WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?
There is a lot of documented science behind hypnosis. In fact, earlier this year the Stanford University School of Medicine published the results of their study on the effects on the brain during hypnosis. By scanning the brains of study participants while they were hypnotized, researchers were able to identify the specific areas of the brain changed during hypnosis.
Hypnosis is a 100% consent state. Popular myths would have you believe that a person who is hypnotized will do all sorts of bizarre things, but that is simply not true. Roberta explains that a person who is hypnotized is aware of their surroundings at all times and that hypnosis is a natural state of mind with no adverse side effects.
Hypnosis is complementary to other forms of treatment and truly empowers people to manage their own issues. Individuals turn to hypnosis for a wide variety of reasons including pain management, smoking cessation, weight loss, stress management, improved concentration, better sleep, increased self-confidence and to overcome fears.
Most clients can be successfully trained on how to perform the self-hypnosis techniques in a series of six two-hour sessions, sometimes less.
If you have a concern that you would like to address, perhaps you’d like to give hypnosis a try and schedule an appointment with FARE Hypnosis Center. After all, what have you got to lose besides pain, fear, stress, weight…
