November 2016 Lifestyle Letter

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love Thanksgiving, if not for the friends and family, for the food, and most, for both. It’s an opportunity when we take the time to reflect and be thankful for our bounty.

I’m grateful to have a very large family of nine other siblings (yes, that means there are ten of us) and our 90-year-old Mummzy, 39 nieces and nephews (and now their spouses), 13 great nieces and nephews and two more babies on the way.  Doing the math just for my immediate family can be quite daunting, yet last year we held Thanksgiving at our townhouse.  It was a full house, but nobody cared that they sat on the floor or a sofa to enjoy their meal, all that mattered was that we were together.  We let go of our big house when we became empty nesters 13 years ago, and I’ve missed hosting the gang.

In this issue, we have a focus on giving to the community through Goodwill and PROP Shop. This story hits close to home for me as you can guess with ten children in our family we grew up shopping at Goodwill to stretch the budget.  I still don’t know how my parents did it, but they did, and we were always happy.

I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving, may you cherish your friendships and family during this season. I trust you will enjoy this issue as much as we did putting it together for you.
